Daniils Cirics was born on April 13, 2002, in Riga, Latvia. His musical journey began at the professional music school named after Emīls Darziņš in Riga, where he received his primary education under the guidance of pedagogues Nely Sarkisjan and Inese Milzeraja.

During this period, Daniils participated in numerous concerts at prestigious venues, including the Great Guild and the Small Guild in Riga, the Stage of the National Dailes Theatre, and the Grand Hall Dzintari.

 

Daniils pursued further studies at the esteemed Gnessin College of Music in Moscow, Russia. Under the tutelage of the renowned violinist Alexey Lundin, Daniils honed his skills and artistic expression. He also engaged in master classes led by esteemed performers such as Roman Nodel, Lev Gerbald, Andreas Ron, Julian Rachlin, Daniel Rowland, and Floor Le Coultre. Daniils had the privilege of performing with orchestras like the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) and the Virtuosi of Moscow, gaining invaluable experience and recognition.

 

He explored composition under the guidance of composer Marina Gribincika and took part in the project "Living paintings " together with the artist Vitaly Ermolaev. Also he participated in the competition "Maestro XIII" 2013 and in concerts with performances of their works.

Daniils's exceptional talent shone through in various music competitions. Noteworthy accolades include winning the first prize at the Stīgu instrumentu spēle/Valsts konkurss (National Violin Competition) in 2014 in Riga, Latvia, the third prize at the 54 Kocian International Violin Competition in 2012 in Usti nad Orlici, Czech Republic, the first prize at the 4th International Saulius Sondeckis Competition in 2013 in Siauliai, Lithuania, and the second prize at the Young Musician competition in 2011 in Tallinn, Estonia.

 

Daniils Cirics performed at venues such as the Great Hall of Zaryadye, the Small Hall of Zaryadje, the Great Hall of Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, and the Concert Hall of Gnessin Institute, Winter (smaill) stage of Dzintary (2017). Daniils actively participated in the Salacgrīvas Klasiskās Mūzikas Festivāls and the "Moscow Greets Guests" Festival. His performances captivated audiences, and he had the honor of playing in front of the 9th President of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis. Daniils's versatility as a chamber musician was showcased in quartets, trios, and duos, enriching his musical journey.

In 2022 he enrolled to Moscow State Conservatory to the cafedra of Sergey Kravchenko.

 

After the agression from Russia to Ukraine began he immidiatly deicided to leave his education at Moscow State Conservatory in March of 2022 and return to Latvia. Subsequently, he attended a masterclass with Boris Garlitsky in Bordo, France, before commencing his studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in September 2022. At the conservatory, Daniils performed in renowned venues such as the Bernard Haitingzaal and Concertgebouw and became a member of the orchestra at the Cello Biënnale. In 2023, he participated in masterclasses with Daniel Rowland and performed at the Davidsbündler Academy. Notably, Daniils took part as a soloist and chamber musician at The Stift Festival in the Netherlands in the same year.

 

From his early education in Latvia to nowadays Daniils has showcased his passion for music through captivating performances, collaborations, and recognition in prestigious competitions and festivals. Currently a member of the NMF Foundation and playing on a modern violin crafted by Igor Ulitsky in 2017.
